The deluxe mount that was offered with Wrath of the Lich King will scale with your flying skill, but there is a caveat. That caveat is that you must also have a mount with up to 310% speed. The good news is that a number of mounts will reach that level, and most of them are quite affordable to acquire.

To get the most out of your mounts buy WoW Cata Gold, you should train them to their maximum flight speed. This can be accomplished in the Riding trainer in any city by visiting it with a mount in your inventory. The mount will be consumed upon learning the skill, and you will then see it as a usable spell in your ‘Mounts’ section of the ‘Pets’ tab found on the Character pane. The mount will then fly at the specified speed whenever you cast that spell.

If you want to learn a new mount with an increased speed, you will need to visit the same Riding trainer and purchase the appropriate rank of riding skill. You will need to have Journeyman riding to use a mount with 100% movement speed, Expert to fly at 280%, and Artisan Riding for the fastest mount in the game.

The Artisan riding rank costs 5,000 gold, but it is worth it if you are looking for the fastest mount in the game. Besides the speed increase, this rank will also allow you to fly in Northrend.

For a lower cost, you can also train your existing mounts to have up to 310% speed. However, this will only work for those mounts that are not currently the Ashes of Al’ar (which requires a 25-man heroic Tol’vir raid), Invincible’s Reins (which is a rare drop from Yogg-Saron in the Eye of Tempest Keep), or the Reins of the Icebound Frostbrood Vanquisher (which is the reward for the 10-man Glory of the Raider raid).

This change will affect all players that have purchased the Artisan Riding rank. Previously, the speed of your mounts was determined by the level of the riding skill you had, and the highest-level riding skills would give you the best overall performance.

The only other changes to the game that may be of interest to some are those related to achievement drakes. In the past, these mounts required you to obtain certain achievements in order to get them, but this change will make them progressively easier to attain as you gain Exalted status with Wyrmrest Temple. In addition, you can now buy a Cold Weather Flying achievement from Cielstraza for 1,000 gold. This will allow your drake to fly at the same 310% speed as Master Riding, and you won’t need to reach level 85 to do so.
